Henley-on-Thames (Crazies Farm), Berkshire

In an area better known now for rowing and other riverside pursuits, Henley's airfield started life m July 1940 as an RLG for the Tiger Moths of White Waltham's 13 EFTS. It was subsequently used by other training units and from August 1944 as home to 529 Squadron with various aircraft (including an Avro Rota autogiro) used for calibration work.
